C at 3 1/2 years old
C as a newborn
I had a Whoa! moment the other day when I was clipping my daughter's fingernails. I looked down and was looking at the hands and fingernails of a child - where had her little baby hands gone????? I was devastated as I looked into her face and stuttered, "You have really BIG hands!" She was a bit surprised by that comment, as was I, so I tried to cover with, "You're just getting so grown up."
Seriously though, when did my baby girl turn into a little girl? It must have been overnight because I never saw it coming. It must be that now we have C.A. to compare her to and next to him she's HUGE! Gasp, if this is hard, wait until my little girl turns into a teenager! If anything, this is helping me to appreciate all of the newborn things (like 3 AM feedings and TONS of poopy diapers) with our son because this has reminded me it's going to go faster than I expect. I'm sure it won't be long before I clip C.A.'s nails and he'll be a little boy too. God, they really do grow up fast.
