A new year is upon us. Welcome 2010. Let's make it a great year shall we? All in all, 2009 wasn't too bad, but it could have been better. It seems we know a lot of friends and family that have traversed, or are still in the midst of, some rough times this past year.
Thankfully, the Lord blessed us with a beautiful winter morning to start off the new year. The three of us took the opportunity to take C sledding at Richmond Hill, a local sledding hot spot. She has been sledding in the back yard before but that offers nothing to the magnitude or thrill quotient of Richmond. C and the hubby hiked up to the top of the hill several times. C was smiling ear to ear each time they came zipping down. Being the round prego that I am, I was deemed official videographer of the memorable event. C even tried sledding by herself once or twice. We started her off about half way up the hill and let her go. She LOVED it! Even better, at the end of the hill, the child actually got off her sled, picked it up (she's 3) and started running for the top of the hill! Imagine.
Following our sledding adventure, we stopped into Walmart to pick up a wall bracket for a flat screen TV. Two things here: Number one - I usually make fun of Walmart and how scanky it can be, but this was a Super Walmart and I was impressed by how much stuff they actully had. I can't say much for the quality of their clothes, but their toy and video departments were rockin'. Number two - I was under the impression that the hubby was just getting the wall bracket for future (like in a year or two) use to help him pre-install wiring for a flat screen while we are working on our basement and making a grand mess during a remodel. NO, he like actually means to finish the basement and install a wall-mounted (dream of dreams) flat screen within a few months. Squeeeeee! Those of you that know - we are seriously old school in the TV department. We get like 5 channels on our old school (let's call it classic design) TV. I will be so excited to move into the 21rst century with HD.
Otherwise, I am getting really eager to recieve my new book via Amazon for book club. We are supposed to read, Cleopatra's Daughter. I've been looking for a new read and I have it under good authority that this one should be a great read.
All in all, today has been a great start to the new year.
Sounds like a great time! I havn't been sledding in ages, I give C props, going back up the hill is the worst part. If I only had the energy of a 3 year old......
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Just think...soon you'll be able to unleash TWO people in your basement (not counting J). And TWO THUMBS UP on that tv. Girl, tv watching at your house has just got to be saaaaad.
ReplyDelete(Have finished and am now sending "Nefertiti" your way. So good.)
Not sure when you changed your layout - I'm digging it! The flat screen plan sounds wonderful!! I'm still rockin' old school "classic" tv with NO cable.
