Making Room

With my due date fast approaching the hubby is working hard on Major Project #2 (the first being the basement which is now complete). We are attempting to turn our former "office" into a room for child #2. My big beef with this room is that there is only one closet and it is somewhat small with a freakishly smaller door. One must actually turn sideways to reach into the closet and retrieve the contents stored within.

ONLY because he loves me, the hubby has consented to expanding the closet so that it can actually be used in a realistic manner. Of course, being that our house is about 50 years old, a home project is never without its roadblocks. Being the handy man that he is, the hubby has outwitted the construction obstacles and is now making some serious headway on the closet. Yeah!

I'm sure this will all be wrapped up before the baby arrives, but I'm a wee bit nervous since we still have to patch drywall, paint, clean the carpets, hang stuff on the wall and set up the room.

Anyway, here are some rather non-exciting pictures of the room as it currently is, with the plan that I will follow through and post the "after" pictures when we are done. Which reminds me I STILL have to post the
"before" and "after" pictures of our basement. In due time.

Teeny - tiny closet before hubby to a power tool to it.

New wider opening which created some need for drywall patching.

  1. Holy smokes, he's good! I can't wait to see your basement. S was telling me about how great it looked and your sweet flat screen. I'm jealous.
