Despite yesterdays horrible weather, this weekend has turned out pretty well. The weather cleared up last night just in time for our ice cream social. Although the weather was rain forest like, I believe that a bountiful amount of ice cream was enjoyed by those that braved the heat.
Today's weather was tip top - Sweet P and I met up with my parents, as well as my brother and his wife at the lake to soak up some sun. My mom made a delicious picnic of fried chicken and potato salad. J brought a yummy mix of veggies in some sort of savory dressing while I brought leftover watermelon. To say the least, I was outdone.
The sweltering heat was cause enough to spend the majority of our day floating and splashing in the water. Sweet P LOVES the water and had to be dragged out with her teeth chattering. I am feeling a bit crispy because, although I slather sun block all over my child, I never quite get to putting it on myself. So am feeling like a bit of a Magda/Smoky Topaz right now. Ouch.
Good times, good times.
